Pre and Post-Treatment Instructions
Morpheus (RF microneedling)
– Stop Retinol or Tretinoin several weeks before treatment
– Stop any chemical peels 2-3 weeks before treatment
– Shaving/ waxing can be done 48 hours before treatment.
Avoid any alcohol and excessive amounts of caffeine the day before the procedure.
On the day of the procedure, please arrive well-hydrated
You may experience swelling, redness, and itching for 72 hours after your procedure.
Do not apply ice or any cooling compresses, as the heat is the body’s natural healing response.
Use the ZO skin health post-procedure kit for better healing. Kit sold inside our office.
Avoid saunas, Jacuzzis, and pools for five days.
Avoid putting makeup on for 24 hours.
One week after the procedure, use a gentle moisturizer and a gentle cleanser to clean the face. We recommend the ZO post-procedure kit, which is sold in the office.
After 24 hours, you may wear makeup up, but clean your skin thoroughly each night–DO NOT sleep with makeup on the treatment area.
ZO skin health Sunblock SPF 50 is used daily to protect skin from hyperpigmentation after 48 hours.
Apply bacitracin twice daily to replace your daily moisturizer for five days after treatment.
Avoid facials, scrubs, serums, procedures, lasers, retinol, or tretinoin for one week after treatment.
Lumecca
– Stop Retinol, and Tretinoin peels two weeks before
– No Facials, peels, Saunas, Hot tubs, pools for seven days after
– No sun exposure for two weeks
– Apply SPF immediately after and daily
– Wait two weeks before starting your Retinol. Tretinoin
– Resume your usual skincare routine after one week. Use a mild cleanser and moisturizer to clean the face during this time. We recommend the ZO post-procedure kit, which is sold in the office.
Aqua Gold / Botox facial
● May apply Retinol, chemical peel, or injectable procedures two weeks before or after treatment.
● Shaving/ waxing can be done 48 hours before treatment.
● Avoid abrasive scrubs or exfoliating products three days before treatment.
● ZO skin health sunscreen can be used immediately after the procedure.
● Do not wash your face for the remainder of the day.
● Avoid any scrubs or exfoliants on your face for one week after treatment.
Fillers
● Avoid facial massages to the treated area.
● Avoid any dental work for two weeks after treatment.
● Avoid applying makeup to your face for 12 hours.
● No Facials, scrubs, hydra facials, or peels for the full seven days after treatment
● LIPS: Avoid smoking, whistling, drinking from a straw, and kissing for at least 24 hours to 3 days after the treatment. Your lips and mouth will remain numb for several hours after the treatment.
● Do not sleep on your face for five days.
NEUROTOXINS (BOTOX)
● Avoid hot baths, saunas, steam rooms, whirlpools, and hot yoga for 24 hours after the treatment. Regular showers may be taken.
● Avoid lying down for the rest of the day after the procedure.
● Avoid exercise or exertional activity for 24 hours.
● You can expect full results between 2-3 weeks.
● Avoid any facials, peels, or scrubs for one week after treatment.
● Do not sleep on your face for 48 hours. Sleep straight on your back.
SCULPTRA (POLY-L-LACTIC ACID INJECTION)
● 5-5-5 Rule: Please perform massage to the treatment area 5 times a day, for 5 minutes each time, for five days
● Bruising is normal and may appear after the initial injection
● Use Tylenol for pain control
● No facials of any kind for two weeks
Deoxycholic Acid Injection/ AKA Kybella
● Take 650mg of Tylenol before you arrive. Bring a large bottle of water with you to the office for hydration immediately after treatment.
● You will experience swelling, redness, and tenderness in the area for approximately 2-3 days. You will have residual swelling in the treated area for up to 7 days.
● Ice area for 24 hours after treatment to help minimize swelling and tenderness
● We will instruct you when and if you can take Ibuprofen after treatment.
● Drink a minimum of 2L of water daily until all swelling is gone.
● Sleep with your head propped up for three days. Do not sleep on your face for 5-7 days.
● Avoid facials, peels, waxing, saunas, and pools for at least one week after treatment.
● Avoid Retinol, Tretinoin, and scrubs on the face area for one week after treatment
Hair – Hair Restoration/ PRP Vampire Facial
– Stop Retinol, Tretinoin, and peels five days before treatment.
● Avoid aspirin, Ibuprofen, and Aleve for 24 hours before treatment.
● The morning of the procedure
● Please arrive well-hydrated (drink at least 3-4 full glasses of water), and don’t forget to eat–you will get a blood draw to obtain on the day of the procedure.
● We will apply numbing cream before the procedure. Please expect your hair to be greasy after the treatment. While shorter hair could be cleaned in the office, longer hair must be shampooed in 8-12 hours at home.
● Avoid using any hair care products for 12 hours. You may resume your regular hair routine after.
● Avoid sun and UV sunlamp exposure to the scalp for 48 hours after the treatment.
● Wait at least one week before using any chemical treatments.
● Avoid alcohol and cigarettes for 72 hours after the treatment.
● If getting the Vampire Facial, avoid exfoliants, scrubs, peels, and facials for one week after treatment.
